Privacy Policy
Updated 26 October 2026 · Verb Lab app and learning websiteVerb Lab is published by Evgenii Dmitriev under the North Growth Lab brand. This page explains how the app, its pronunciation service and the learning website handle data. Contact us at hello@northgrowthlab.com.
Learning on your device
The app stores your language choices, favourites and practice progress on your device. Downloaded pronunciation audio may also be cached there. The website stores learning preferences in your browser. These features do not require a Verb Lab account or a server-side learner profile.
The app does not request microphone recordings, contacts, photos or precise location. It contains no advertising or tracking SDK. App search and practice do not require sending your favourites or progress to us.
Pronunciation and network requests
When you play online pronunciation in the iOS app, the selected learning text, language and playback speed are sent to our speech gateway hosted by Cloudflare. The gateway uses Microsoft Azure Speech with a prebuilt synthetic voice to generate audio. This is text-to-speech; the app does not record your voice.
Network providers necessarily receive connection information such as an IP address and request time to deliver content. Service requests and technical errors may appear in operational logs used to run, troubleshoot and protect the service. Speech requests contain the learning phrase in the request URL. We do not use these requests for advertising or learner profiling.
Our speech configuration uses an Azure region in the United States and Cloudflare infrastructure. Processing may therefore take place outside your country. Microsoft's text-to-speech privacy documentation describes processing with prebuilt voices. Cloudflare describes its service processing in its privacy policy.
If online audio is unavailable, the app can fall back to a device voice. Website pronunciation uses the browser's speech facilities; the voice may be provided locally or by the browser or operating-system provider.
Website analytics
The learning website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and page performance. According to Cloudflare's documentation, its analytics beacon collects these metrics without cookies or localStorage and does not fingerprint individual visitors. This website analytics service is separate from the app's local learning records.
Storage and retention
- Local preferences and progress remain until you clear the app's data, delete the app, or clear this website's browser storage. Device backups are controlled by your operating-system and backup settings.
- Generated learning audio is cached to avoid repeatedly synthesising the same phrase. Our gateway sets an audio cache lifetime of up to one year; caches can evict it sooner. Device audio caches may be cleared by the operating system.
- Operational logs follow the infrastructure provider's retention settings. They are separate from your local favourites and practice records.
- If you email support, we receive the address and information you send. We retain that correspondence as needed to handle the request, related follow-up and applicable record-keeping requirements.
Your choices and requests
You can study the app's bundled learning content without playing online pronunciation. You can remove local data by deleting the app or clearing the site's storage. For questions or requests concerning information you have sent us, including access or deletion, email hello@northgrowthlab.com and mention Verb Lab. Do not include passwords or API keys.
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. We may update this page when the service changes; the date above identifies the current policy.
